Monthly Events

Come join us at the monthly coffees or the scheduled luncheons. Tours are planned monthly and feature an interesting location in the Vancouver/ Portland Metro area. Or join us for the occasional socials or fundraisers.  It’s a good way to meet new people.

Please be sure to check with the event contact to confirm that the event will occur as scheduled.

Coffees are held the first Tuesday of each month.  The social hour starts at 10:00 a.m. with the meeting following at 11:00 a.m.  Dates and locations are listed here.

Take part in a lively social hour and meet other members, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch selected for our group, and hear a presentation from a speaker or entertainment.  Come and enjoy a great program!

Luncheons are held on the second Wednesday in the months of October, April and June. The social hour begins at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:45 a.m. Reservations with payment are required in advance. Find out more about the luncheons here. The reservation form is available in CCNC newsletters prior to each luncheon. Luncheons are held at Club Green Meadows, 7703 NE 72nd Ave.,Vancouver

Socials are a great way for couples to get out on the town and meet others.  Members have enjoyed happy hour gatherings at different locations in Vancouver, a summer picnic, a St. Patrick’s Day social, and a special holiday dinner and dance in December with a Christmas theme.

Enjoy a day outing to see the sights, like the Pendleton Woolen Mill, the Hat Museum,  the Rhododendron Garden, and more. Carpooling is usually arranged.  See more about upcoming tours.

We would like to thank each of you for sharing your aprons at the October Coffee. It was so much fun seeing all the different styles and hearing the stories.

At the November coffee we are looking at different hairstyles over the years. Those high school pictures would be great to see.

How many of you remember using back combs to get your hair really tall?  Let’s see how many members can find a back comb buried in the back of your hair care drawers.

At the December Coffee, we will be sharing old cookbooks, so start looking for your favorite book you would like to share.

January 2024 Coffee will highlight First Homes.  Bring a Picture of the house, part of the country and what it cost!  Sears sold building products before 1900, and sold kit homes from 1908 to 1940. From 1940 to 1950 or 1951 Sears sold Homart pre-fabricated home kits in a more limited distribution. Sears Honor-Bilt Homes: were distributed by Sears Catalog and represented a higher quality construction.

We are moving right along in our year. March Coffee we will do Shoes. We all have the pair of shoes that we keep just because.  Bring that pair of shoes and tell us why!
