Gardening

With nearly ideal conditions for gardening in the Vancouver area, CCNC members enjoy getting together to talk about digging the real dirt.

The gardening group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at various locations. At our meetings, the topics vary and we often have WSU Master Gardeners speak. Topics have included how to grow plants and flowers such as rhododendrons, hydrangeas, hostas, dahlias, roses, orchids, and native plants. Other topics have been: making potting soil, garden tools, and container planting. We often visit nurseries and gardens around the county and in Portland such as Hulda Klager Lilac Garden, Aitken’s Iris Garden, Wildlife Botanical Garden, Fort Vancouver Heritage Garden, and SO many more. We’ve made overnight trips to Oregon Garden and the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival in Seattle. We always have fun and learn something! For information on our current month’s meeting time and location, contact Cindy Reber.
