NEWCOMERS’ FRIDAY HIKES 2018

The following hiking schedule is weather dependent and may be modified so be sure to let the hike coordinator know if you plan to hike so you can be notified of any changes. Rained-out hikes may be completed later in the fall if the weather holds. New hikers email Vicki Holman vpholman@pacifier.com

If you plan to hike please call or email the hike coordinator a day or two in advance AND LEAVE YOUR PHONE/CELL PHONE NUMBER. Let the coordinator know where you will meet the group especially if the hike has two meeting locations. We usually meet at either Fred Meyers, 11325 SE Mill Plain Blvd & Chkalov at the southwest side by the gas station or at the Pendleton Mills parking lot, SW corner in Washougal, the parking lot across from Warehouse 23  at the corner of Columbia Way and  100 Columbia Street, or the Albertson’s Parking lot on 20th Ave, north of 134th, at the Starbucks end by the gas station. Always bring lunch and water. Rain gear is recommended for most early hikes. Hiking boots are recommended for most hikes. If you have any questions or concerns about the hike discuss them with the hike coordinator prior to the scheduled hike.

Our policy is to car pool from the local meeting location to the trailhead. It is suggested the passengers contribute to the driver an approximate rate of $.25/mile/vehicle as fuel reimbursement. If a hike has options please let the hike coordinator know your plans. Hikers should carpool together based on length of hike they intend to make.

Golden Age Passport/Interagency Senior Pass & NW Parking Pass are interchangeable. The Discover Pass needed for Hamilton Mountain & Hardy Ridge, and Silver Star from the Gross Vista Trailhead is a separate pass.
